pace

Lenawee United Way’s lead campaigns began June 30th with United Parcel Service. UPS is running Pacesetter campaigns companywide and the Adrian facility is no exception. Presentations were made to three shifts of employees by Allan Brittain, Campaign Chair, and Sue Kotts Garcia, Lenawee United Way Resource Development Manager. “We were excited to communicate the LIVE UNITED philosophy as we embarked on the 2008/2009 campaign year,” commented Brittain.
Setting the “Pace” for this year’s Lenawee United Way campaign also includes First Federal Bank, Inergy, Key Bank, and Meijer. At these businesses, planning is underway, T-Shirts have been ordered, and presentations are scheduled for August 2008. “Their participation will jump start Lenawee County’s campaign and will build excitement as we move toward the official start,” continued Brittain.

The official campaign for the 2008/2009 year begins Friday, September 12 with a breakfast at Adrian College’s new Ritchie Dining Hall.
Garcia has met with many of the businesses’ campaign teams and appreciates their enthusiasm and their willingness to create a LIVE UNITED atmosphere. “The goals for many of the companies running Pacesetter campaigns include participation, education, and fun,” said Garcia. There will be food, fellowship and encouragement. Incentives include days off with pay and pizza lunches.
Employees will learn how Lenawee United way will continue helping those with the greatest need through programs with long-term solutions and promoting the importance of advancing the common good for the entire community.
